Sam Blakelock is the founder of Pickup Music, an online music education platform for musicians.
His work in social media been featured at the NAMM trade show, ‘How To Make It in the New Music Business’ book by Ari Herstand and he has given talks at US and New Zealand colleges on using social media for musicians.
Blakelock is originally from New Zealand and is now based in Los Angeles. He holds a Master of Music from City University of New York in jazz performance and has performed in off-broadway shows in New York City, as a music director on cruise ships internationally, on TV shows including American Idol, and the Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC, Smalls Jazz Club, Hotel Cafe, Rockwood Music Hall, and Carnegie Hall.
He is also the co-founder of OpenStage, a social video app for musicians.
